AeroPress
The AeroPress is fast, forgiving and portable. It combines steeping with pressure for a cup that is full-bodied yet clean. The most practical method for the office desk, travel and single-cup mornings.

Steps
-
Step 1 0:00
Inverted setup
Insert the plunger about 1 cm into the chamber and stand the AeroPress upside down on the plunger. Put a paper filter in the cap, rinse it and set it aside.
-
Step 2 0:00
Add the coffee
Grind 15 g of coffee medium-fine and add it through the funnel. Tare the scale.
-
Step 3 0:00
Pour the water
Pour 90 °C water quickly up to 225 g. Water that is too hot easily turns bitter in the AeroPress; 88–92 °C is a good range.
-
Step 4 0:15
Stir
Stir gently 3–4 times with the paddle so no dry coffee remains on the surface.
-
Step 5 0:30
Steep
Screw on the cap with the filter and wait until 1:15.
-
Step 6 1:15
Flip and press
Place a sturdy mug on top and flip in one motion. Press slowly and steadily for about 30 seconds; stop when you hear the hiss.
-
Step 7 2:00
Serve
If it tastes too intense, dilute with 30–50 g of hot water. Unscrew the cap and push the puck straight into the bin.
Tips
In line with the box: work between 1:14 and 1:16 for the AeroPress. 1:14 gives a more concentrated cup; 1:16 comes closer to filter coffee. Cooler water (85–88 °C) works especially well with darker roasts.
Travelling without a grinder? Order your coffee pre-ground to the setting you need; it is at its best within the first two weeks.
